Step Into Spring With Harper.

Hey everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend and most importantly had a relaxing day for your week ahead. Its crazy to think its March already, time is really flying. But one thing is for certain and that is springtime. Although the weather isn't the way we would love to have it, its safe to say we can finally get planning our outfits for this season and welcome back our SS styles. If your already following my new Snapchat account, you would have seen what I got up to during the week. I had the pleasure of trying on the beyond fabulous dresses from Harper in Galway. Harper is located on Eglinton St in the city and once you walk in to the store nothing fails to disappoint. The staff, interior and dresses are all in one amazing. If your into elegant chic style, this shop is for you. From going to a wedding, debs to even a glamorous night out, every dress suits the occasion.

I uploaded two dresses onto my Facebook page and the response was outstanding. However this was just two out of many many more. I know we all tend to have different styles so by browsing the Harper Facebook page or Instagram you can see more of a variety.

I personally think attending a formal occasion is when one most look their best. We all love to dress to impress, we all want to feel and be sophisticated. By trying on these dresses this is exactly how I felt (even though I was going nowhere). Dressing fancy is key to everything. So, if your going anywhere special this season be sure to pop in and find a style suited for you. Here is the link to Harper's Facebook page  and beneath is my top ten picks from Harper for Spring/Summer. All suited for any formal occasion. Each colour also fits into this seasons trends.

I will have a new blog-post about more SS style from Harper up during the week. But for now enjoy the fashion and step into spring been inspired by Harper.

I hope you enjoy the read,

Love HaylsKouture. X

How To Dress For An Interview

I know its quite an unusual topic to be talking about, but its also very important. Going to an interview means first impressions and first impressions means dress to impress ladies. People often find it tough while choosing an outfit to wear to an interview, we either feel over dressed or under dressed, besides which one is worse?
Personally, I think the key outfit for an interview is to be dressed sophisticated and well presented. Either wearing black or cream is the two colours in which you should depend on most. Wearing black skinny jeans, heels, a high neck top and blazer is your safest option. If your opting for a more dressier outfit, wearing a midi body con dress with long sleeves, nude heels and blazer is another option. Always go for a simple look, toned colours and a small clutch. Bringing a big bag is not necessary, it looks clumsy and you don't even need it. Wear a minimum amount of makeup and don't over do it. For hair, I would go either sleeked back in a tidy bun or pony tail, or a loose curl. Make sure to paint your nails as the person interviewing you might look at your hands while talking.

Here is some looks from Zara to help you achieve the elegant look:

The Glamour And Glitz Of Hollywood - Oscars Style.

Hey everyone, I hope your Monday is going good. As you probably seen from the internet today, on snap-chat and Instagram the fab dresses from this years Oscars. Wouldn't we all love to have been there. I personally love Hollywood (even though I have not been there, yet.) I just love the glam of the movies and the fashion the Oscar brings along with it. As La La Land was part of the nominees, it really just topped it all. The movie is probably one of my favourite films, I went to see it in the cinema three times, I know how sad your probably all thinking. But when I really like something, I LOVE it. Anyways, enough about me and lets have a browse through the style from last night. As we all have different styles, the below three are my favourite, the colours and elegance!

Also if you haven't already added my new snapchat account its named- haylskouture8.

I will have a new blog posted tomorrow.

Whats In This Spring

Hey everyone,
Even though it may not feel like spring (especially as I'm sitting here writing this with a blanket over me, while its raining outside). However, it is spring and before this glam season ends we want to make the most of it. We want to clear out our winter woolies and replace them with floral patterns and skirts. I know its hard to adjust with the weather but ladies mixing and matching is key.
So, after some research and Instagram creeping I have come up with a list of fashion items we all need is our closets this spring.

1) Stripes - Stripes upon pants, tops and dresses. The more retro the stripe the better.

2) Belled Cuffs  - The new trend is always going to be welcomed in the summer months. Its fresh, pretty and stylish. Also can be worn for casual and dressy wear.

3) Tassels & Ruffles - Having this on your clothes is extremely classic and elegant, Give your outfit Chanel goals by buying a tassel necklace or having it on your bag or jacket.

4) Red Suede - If Givenchy have it on their models. We need it too.

5) LWD - Little white dress is an essential to always have, replacing the LBD. The colour is perfect for this season especially as it clean, bright and sophisticated.

The good news - you don't need to splash your money on designers to achieve the look. You can buy the items +Zara Home  +Primark  and in that case any high street store.

Happy shopping,

HaylsKouture. X

Tips When Wanting To Travel Light

If your going travelling now or in the summer, this post is worth a read. So I hope your sitting back on your lazy Sunday evening before your busy week starts with a cup of tea (or even glass of wine) in hand. Travelling is something we all look forward to, its a break away from reality and a time to spend with a loved one getting to make memories. We want to stay comfortable but still look great in our pictures but its sadly not like home - we cant just pick put an outfit from our wardrobe suiting how we feel or whats the weather going to be like. We have to bring the correct items in our luggage which we can wear throughout our holiday, something practical, something suiting the climate and the activities your going to pursue.

First of all we need to think of the weather - if your going to a hot climate bring clothes and shoes to suit, same goes to a cold climate. Going on a city break? Bring one jacket for dressy wear, this can be a faux fur, leather jacket or a bomber jacket of any kind. This will do you at night when going for dinner and you can also wear it to the airport to save space. Bring a light jacket with a hood in case the weather takes a turn and your out exploring because the last thing you need is getting your hair wet.

Bring more tops than trousers. Jeans and pants take up the most room. They can be hard to fold, so bring maybe three pairs so you can mix and match with your easy to fold tops and jumpers.

Keep dresses and skirts limited ladies. Every time I go somewhere, I tend to over-pack dresses which I don't end up wearing because I either want to stay warm or I want to stay casual. Keep your look limited and if you do end up bringing some make sure to only bring 2-3 dresses depending on how long you are there for.

Only bring two pairs of shoes in your case. After all, staying comfortable is essential especially with the amount of walking, a pair of runners or boots depending on your style will keep you looking and staying relaxed for the day.

Fold your clothing items as small as you can get them and do not over-pack. Keep your clothes, shoes, underwear, PJ'S, hair appliances in your case and keep your make-up, perfume and cosmetics in your large handbag your going to bring with you. I would also advice bringing a small clutch bag for travelling in the day for your money, phone, lipstick and passport.

Last but not least, make sure you have room in your case because remember your not going to a deserted island and I'm sure your going to see something you like to bring home. When I was in Italy I had no room to bring home stuff and I was so upset because of this (the shops in Italy are amazing). So don't do what I did and make sure to have lots of room in your case.

Wherever you tend on going, I hope this helps!
Stay comfortable and stylish,

HaylsKouture. X

Tips To Stay More Organised.

Hey everyone, I hope your week is good. Its nearly the weekend and its safe to say the weeks are flying by. Merely because of this it can be hard to get organised and this is what I'm here to talk to you about. The girls in college say I have some type of disorder were I have to have everything organised but I don't think that can be a bad thing right? I feel that once your organised you feel better about yourself and what your doing. It can make you day/week easier, especially when you know what your going to do and when.

So, if your not an organised person and wish to become one its never too late. Start by buying a notebook or diary. I have so many and Penneys now have an amazing range on notebooks. They are all so cute and affordable. You can never have one too many!! When I wake up in the morning I tend to write my to-do list of what I have to get done in the day, by doing this your obviously going to become more organised.
Another way is to start getting up that little bit earlier, I know it can be hard to drag yourself out of your warm bed but once you do and get cracking you feel great about yourself. Going for a swim or jog can also make you feel more energised in the morning which will leave you with lots of energy to kick start your day. (Also lots of water).
Prepare before bed. Especially if you are going away the next day, always leave out what your going to wear, your makeup and shoes. It will give you more time to get ready and you don't have to be rushing. I find there is nothing worse while rushing and getting ready. You always either forget something or aren't happy with the way you look.
Last but not least, balancing your time. This is key, make sure to balance you day or week between work, college, spending time with friends and most importantly YOU TIME. Spend an evening once a week treating yourself to a pamper night, getting your nails done or evening sitting back and watching your favorite film. Its so important to balance you week it will result in a more organised schedule.

I hope this can help you all in some way and I hoped you enjoyed the read!!

3 Staples We All Need In Our Closets.

Hey everyone, I hope you all are having a lovely week and enjoyed the sunshine we had today. For once in Galway the weather was good which means the spring season is finally on its way. As of tomorrow we hope to see more sunshine and put on our light springtime clothes once again. So, the piece I'm going to write about is mainly guiding you all through three staples we all need to have hanging in our closets. By this it varies by person. We can have one too many of a clothing item in a different style, colour or shape; but guess what who cares once your comfortable in it.

My three pieces I cannot live without are simple.  Although they probably change every year alongside my style, these five are sure not to let ME or YOU down. Having your favourite staples are an easy way to dress any outfit and also a way not to help you out when your in a rush going out on the town (not knowing what to wear).

Number one - Investing in a pair of black skinny jeans. You can basically buy black jeans anywhere, but having a comfy fit alongside quality can be hard to find. I always buy my jeans in River Island, they are a great fit, they stay in perfect condition after numerous of washes and lastly you can always depend on them to wear with literally anything, at any occasion, any season.

Number two- Ok, you probably can see from my Instagram posts my love for Faux fur. Probably one of the best buys a girl can make is fur. - it can never go out of style. Its classy, sophisticated and beyond fab. I have about five or six fur jackets all in different colours, I remember buying my first one  few years in Berska and at the time it was so expensive. Now you can purchase them in Penney's with the same quality but at a way cheaper price.

Number three- Last but definitely not least is the polo neck styled jumpers/tops.I LOVE these, they are such little life savers. Whenever your stuck on an outfit these tops come in so handy. Penneys and Zara have a great range all less than 10euro. I would recommend buying them in black, white and beige. They are probably the most easy colours to match an outfit with - or whatever colour matches your style.

An Update On Everything.

Hey everyone, I decided to just give you all a quick run through on things on my blog so far. As promised my first VLOG will be up in two weeks time. Ekkkkkkkk! I'm so nervous but excited at the same time, it will be my first time to do anything like this so its kind of cool to do something different. I wanted something new and fresh for my blog, as much as I love writing and its something I want to do when I leave college; I think the whole side of Youtube is good to know about. Who dosn't love following vlogs on youtube? I'm only after starting watching some after my housemates in Galway are obsessed with them. So basically my first vlog will be just an introduction for those who do not know me,  its kind of a tester for me as well to see how it goes. I will keep you posted and updated on the vlog when it comes nearer to the time, but for now my competition winner will be revealed this week. If you have not already entered before or want to enter one last time, keep liking and sharing the post for it on my HaylsKouture facebook page. I spent this weekend working and working on my blog, with the internet been so so bad at home I only got publishing this now (even though it was written Friday, I had to change it all around). Anyways, that's all for now and I will keep you updated during the week.

The Brown Thomas Sale.

As the competition is soon to be revealed. With one lucky lady getting to spend 100 euro of her choice in the fabulous luxury store. How exciting right? But guess whats more exciting? Brown Thomas have currently an annual sale of 70% of all luxury goods. That is of course including all your top designer brands we all love and adore. With that in mind, the spring summer collection has now arrived. The press day of the collection was held in Brown Thomas during the week. How I would have loved to have been at it, but the joys of a student. Anyways, the whole collection of subtle colours, denim beyond more denim is here, with designers such as Dolce and Gabanna, Vera Wang and Fendi flourishing their new designs and ideas. Its quite exciting getting to see whats new in and what colours are here to this season. We all kind of adapt to the trend so I cannot wait to see all the store has to offer in the upcoming weeks.

So here is a taste of whats in the great big sale, you might be even kind to yourself and have a treat.

My Outfit Collection From Winter 16/17

Happy Thursday everyone!! I know its late January, and I'm only talking about this now. But I decided its better to talk about my winter outfits and where I purchased them when the Christmas is over. Also it gives me a chance to talk about how to adjust your wardrobe over from winter to spring. Although our Christmas weather has been quite awkward we still found ourselves in our classic woolies. So quite simple, I'm just going to guide you along briefly of what I wore and if you want something similar etc, don't hesitate to contact me regarding any questions.

This is just some of my outfits, the rest are on my HaylsKouture Instagram account but unfortunately they're taking an age to download. So I will attach the link to click onto and in each of my outfit pictures I tagged where I bought the clothes so I hope that helps!! Likewise, adjusting from winter to summer can be hard for some and for others people cannot wait to get out of heavy clothing. I know it can be unfortunate with our weather here in Ireland and sometime we find ourselves over wearing our favourite clothing pieces over and over again. Although its not quite springtime yet, for the time we have left of January; still hang on to your knits which can go great with a pair of jeans and boots or pumps. Also stay on to your scarfs which can be worn instead of an oversized jacket to keep you that tad bit warm this month!

Love,
HaylsKouture.

My Trip To Rome.

With Christmas done and dusted, whats more better than taking a trip away? Luckily enough, last week myself and Daniel headed to sunny Rome to witness all the beautiful city had to offer. We spent four days here, and returned back home to snowy Ireland just last Thursday night. I'm currently back in college, after spending last night celebrating my birthday with my friends because my birthday was last week when I was away. I suppose like majority of students, I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things especially as my hours in college have increased and I have a new timetable. But enough about college, and lets talk about Roma.

Where do I even start? Its beyond amazing, the artwork, architecture, scenery and culture is breathtaking. We stayed in the Eurostar International Palace, its located right in the centre of the city and is a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum- in other words it is beside everything. The hotel was like a museum itself, the staff were friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean. So, if your looking for a place to stay while visiting the city I highly recommend the hotel. We booked it through booking.com.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. As I'm a big fan of site seeing, artwork and everything historical the city was never ending. On our first day we walked along Palatine hill, got to see the Colosseum alongside the area of ruins which was incredible.
With all our walking around the city and early flight all we wanted by night was an Italian meal, glass of wine and relaxing time in a cool bar or as we did visit the Trevi Fountain. Getting a good nights sleep and limiting your time when away is essential. You need to get up early to get ready, have food before planning your day. Walking around inquires lots of energy, so balance everything to keep you untried on your travels.

Image may contain: one or more peopleImage may contain: outdoor

On our second day, my 20th birthday; we visited Vatican city. Got to capture the beauty of the area and all it had to offer. It was breathtaking and if your visiting Rome this is a must do. Everything about the Sistine chapel and Vatican is a remarkable memory alone. That night we had a fab meal for my birthday and made way to the Spanish steps and of course walked around the city in the beautiful moonlight. My jumper I wore for dinner was actually bought in Rome. That day we were passing by a boutique and I fell in love. Daniel bought it for me and its so comfortable. The sleeves caught my eye and I adore the knitted feel as it was quite chilly at night. (Better glance at it on my Instagram).

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people standing and indoor Image may contain: indoor Image may contain: outdoor

Our third and last day consisted of doing everything else touristy in the city, from going on the hop on hop off bus, exploring the famous shopping streets, and eating pizza. The country all in one is affordable, I thought it was going to be similar to Paris and be expensive, but I thought wrong. Food for the two of us came to around 30.00 per night. The site seeing was more or less free, and we didn't pay for travel (only to and from the airport) as we were located in the centre. The hop on hop off bus is a most do also, it brings you all around Rome to capture the major to-do places. We also visited the trendy district of San Lorenzo and the Pantheon  alongside the Trevi Fountain (again) on our last day to top off our amazing trip.

Many of you have asked me about the trip so I hope this covers all you wanted to know. I know some of you already follow me on snapchat so you seen what I got up to during my time away. I also have pictures on Instagram and Facebook. My upcoming VLOG at the end of the month will just be an introduction and after I kinda get the hang of that I hope to put up one of Rome.

I know it has been a long read which I'm glad I got the time to do as I'm wrecked from been out so late last night, but anyways I'll keep you updated during the week with more posts!

My Skincare Regime.

As promised, I want to talk to you all about my favourite skin care essentials. I know during Christmas we are all constantly  wearing makeup so its often hard to find that time for your skin to take a break. However, make sure you ladies always take of your makeup before bedtime. I know it can be an effort sometimes to take it off, but having your skin in perfect condition is key. Its just three simple steps of cleansing, toning and moisturising.

So, I have always used Nivea products which I find great for your skin. I'm lucky as I don;t have oily or dry skin so I find the Nivea helpful for balancing my skins.  The Nivea products can be purchased in Cara Pharmacy at a great deal. They are usually between six to ten euro and the smell the lotion is to die for.

This Christmas I changed around my skincare products ( I know I change around quite a lot, but its good to see the difference in products). I'm now using Vichy Products which can be purchased in any pharmacy. So far the products are amazing and I highly recommend them. My skin is feeling as smooth as ever, and I got the set which consists of the cleansing milk, toner, spray for your face, a day moisturiser and night moisturiser.

I also recommend face masks. Purchasing in a good mask is a must do. Its a great way to relax and provides your skin with great comfort. Its an all in one cleanser and removes all unnecessary dirt, blackheads etc.

I hope this was helpful. I wish I got more time to talk through the steps of the Vichy products ( but Im on an essay deadline). Anyways, I'm sure you all get the jist of applying the creams and NEVER forget to moisturise your skin before bed.

Here is a picture of the products and any further questions dont forget to ask!!

Love,

HaylsKouture. X

The Christmas Countdown.

OK, I can finally squeeze in a half an hour me time towards my blog. With one exam down, and two more to go - I can thankfully say this time next week I can finally relax and thank that the dreadful exam season is over and most importantly look forward to Christmas with my family and friends. Its so frustrating trying to squeeze everything into your week and trying to stay updated with my blog while study is a tricky situation to say the least. But anyways, the week after next is a new week. I can prepare my self to finally start my Christmas shopping, plan attending upcoming blogging events, focus on my blog ( lots of new plans and ideas for the new year) and last but not least reveal my HUGE giveaway.
As you can see from my HaylsKouture website, I have a new travel section on it. So plans are, in the new year I'm going to focus on my travelling more, reviewing my stay away and give advice on what to do, see etc. I really love travelling and getting to write about it is something I really want to do. Plans for my summer are coming together, but I will reveal more about that in upcoming months. For now, I hope you understand my delay on new blogposts, and I will post a new one as soon as Im finished the dreadful exams.
Thanks for reading, and keep your eyes peeled on my website in the upcoming weeks.

Your Stylishly,
HaylsKouture.
