A Little Bit About Me

Good morning ladies, one of my friends recently told me to write a piece about myself, explaining to you all how I came up with my blog and my aims for it etc. Well I took this rainy morning to tell you all in brief "Who Iam" in other words. For those who do not know me, I'm Hayley Doherty and I'm ninteen years old. During my leaving cert year which was last year,  many people told me to set up a blog. At the time I wasn't really into blogs or even reading people's, as I was so clogged up with study. However during my free time on the weekends I began to turn my Instagram into a mini blog but not advertising it. I started reading blogs such as Sosueme, Rosy Connollys and many more. When doing out my CAO for college I greatly decided I was going to go straight into journalism, until I was warned by many people to not go into it straight away- because of work etc. So I took the other route, I decided to do a Bachelor of Arts degree in NUIG galway. So if journalism becomes an epic fail, I can turn the other route and go for teaching. With my mind set on that, I decided to set up my blog during the summer months. It was kind of a failure at start, because of holidays, getting ready for college I didn't pay much attention to it- and left it unattended. In late August when I started in galway I began reading and researching more. I'm currently here studying my arts degree and in my final  year im branching out into fashion jouranalism. I've been putting a lot of hard work into my blog these last few months- (trying to think of a name which was not trademarked was the hardest).  But it safe to say im overhelmed with my blog so far. All the support, good feedback & even exciting offers I got in only two weeks. Not to mention having over 1,000 followers and likes already is amazing. I also work at the weekends and college work is getting tough, so I'm trying my best to keep it all balanced. I hope in the upcoming years I will be a fashion journalist, and because of this I applied for many interns in magazines this summer. (Fingers crossed). Anyways ladies, enough said about me. Thank you all again for you support with my blog, and I'm over the moon as mentioned previously about how far it's gone already. Keep reading more, and until next time. ✨✨✨✨

A Sneak Peek Into The SS Collection

Although Dolce  & Gabbana, Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli are melting our fashion insides out.Its tough not been able to afford a piece of their expensive clothing this spring. However, its safe to say any woman can pull of the catwalk look without the catwalk clothing. With research done on recent magazines, I recently put together the cute outfits for this season (even suitable for our Irish weather).  By replacing Vogue with Vero Moda, I hope the following helps you achieve the spring summer look & whats in for you. With sleek back here, light make-up and vivid lips- you will be strutting like a princess for the next few months.

Colours & shades are the first big step- what colour is in, what do I wear it with? Well ladies get your pastel colours out, flares, maxi dresses & mini flat bags according to Elle magazine are all in.   Baby pinks, soft nudes & browns are perfect for spring season,  they brighten up your smile and outfit greatly. You can wear nudes with anything, and any type of shoes really. I know we all love wearing black, sleek dresses and black everything, but for the sake of springtime try to brighten up your wardrobe with more colours.
"Floral patterns are also back in, floral everything to floral plants" Balmain insisted. Also according to Prada, she wants women worldwide to start wearing their underwear over their clothing; sadly I think we can all agree we wont adapt to this trend. So thats enough tips from Fashion week and now heres a glance onto our fashion industry near us.

However not many stores in Ireland have releved their SS collections yet, but heres a sneak peek of what to buy to buy in River Island, Topshop & Vero Moda. I will write about more in mid february. But for now enjoy the look.

So here is is ladies, a look inside the spring summers closet. During the week I will be focusing on Penneys SS collection, and their perky new pump shoes.

Trousers Up

Just a quick glance on looks inspired by me for casual wear; a quiet night out or even going for a meal. Its hard to decide what to wear most of the time- the dress code is always an ambiguous question. Thanks to the invention of jeans its safe to say they rescue us every time.  Because of this we can mix & match our outfits with anything really. A classy blazer or even a plain white T with chic heels is a must wear. In the following I have just gathered some old pictures of "my casual look" by wearing jeans & my favourite golden brown flares from Boohoo. Its always nice to wear something comfy, and for a change elegant! So head out, glam up your hair & makeup and embrace the casual look- because sometimes its nicer than going OTT.

P.S: River Island jeans, moreover "Molly Jeans"are such a good buy, there extremely comfortable and come in all sizes & colours for only 50.00

Also my brown flares from Boohoo are only 14.00 & come in black and white!

Every Woman Needs A Tan

Having a bronzed body is key for every woman. It suits your make-up better; your hair & even the clothes your wearing. However because of the climate in Ireland; there is only one place we can get our shimmering tan- a bottle. Buying fake tan can be frustrating- it can be either too shiny, smelly or sticky. It certainly is hard to find the perfect tan to suit all skin types, as some women prefer a lighter shade than others. When buying a tan always be aware of the shade on the bottle, & always match it to your own natural skin. Instant tan is probably the best to buy, as you can see it being applied straight to your skin ( so you know when to stop when it goes too dark). Likewise when applying your tan on- always apply the tan on in advance maybe two days before your occasion. When applying the tan on to your skin, make sure your body is moisturised from head to toe. This will make the tan look more smooth and it will prevent streaks! When your tan is applied, let it dry and the the following day have a light shower to remove the top layer of your tan. Keep doing this until you get the exact natural shade you want- so you can be perfect for your special occasion or even night out.

To help you girlie's out in finding the perfect tan, here is some of the best tans in pharmacy's at the moment. Also don't forget to read the instructions on the bottle too.

Valentines Closet

Only two more weeks until Valentines day, which means only two more weeks to plan the day and more importantly your outfit.
Don't stress, because in the following I have listed my top picks from Missguided; perfect outfits, at affordable prices.

** I will start of with shoes, I only picked two pairs as they both would match perfectly with the following outfits or even jeans & a blazer.

Known as the "lace up barely there heels". These shoes are simple but yet glamorous. The white would simply go with any outfit, all you have to do is dress the outfit up or down. The price of the shoes are 35euro. Personally a best buy.

Red for Valentines day is a tradition. However if you chose not to wear red, and maybe go for black or white; These pair of heels would be the perfect match. They are very unique and elegant, which could be matched with a red clutch bag or even gold. Also the plaited up gold lace gives a sexy detail towards the shoe. These pair were 42euro & are now down to 33.60.

Next comes the sassy outfits- I picked dresses all from Missguided again, and at a reasonable budget. These six outfits were my favourites, and are perfect for the occasion with colour & style. I hope the following help, and if not click onto Missguided's  page for more outfits & shoes.
